How long does it take to graduate from the school?
We offer programs with a variety of schedules so you can balance your personal & professional life with your education. Our Cosmetology & Hairstyling program is approximately 35 weeks on a full-time schedule (53 weeks, part-time) our Skin Care program can be completed in as little as 17 weeks, and Manicure is a 12 ½ week program on a full-time schedule.

When should I register?
The sooner, the better! After speaking with your Enrollment Advisor, you should schedule an appointment to tour our facility. At that time, we will explain the entire enrollment process to you. Since we offer start dates on the first Monday of each month, you can register at any time, provide your deposit, and let us know when you would like to begin your first day of classes. We work with you.
What are the programs that you offer?
We offer four programs recognized by the NJ State Board of Cosmetology, & NACCAS, our accrediting agency: Cosmetology & Hairstyling, Skin Care & Manicure. (Our 1200-hour Cosmetology course & 600-hour Skin Care course are also available in Spanish.) These classes will prepare you for the New Jersey State Board exam of your field of study, as well as a solid foundation for a career in the field. We also offer day & evening classes to fit your schedule.
How old should I be to register at your school?
To register, you must be at least 17 years old.
How often do classes start?
Our classes start on the first Monday of every month.
Is your school accredited?
Yes, Christine Valmy International School of Esthetics & Cosmetology is accredited by COE, The Council on Occupational Education.
Do you offer financial aid?
Yes, we offer Federal financial aid, and both TFC & school payment plans to assist you in reaching your educational goals.
Do you have job assistance?
Our Student Services Administrator can help you find a job before or after graduation. You will also learn how to craft a resume, job coaching & interview skills in the classroom. Additionally, through our partnership with bloom.com, you will learn marketing skills, how to build an online portfolio, online resume, the art of self-promotion and more.

Why is it important for the school to be licensed by the State of New Jersey?
It is important to be a licensed school because it means the State of New Jersey has determined our school meets the criteria to teach state-approved programs that will prepare students for the State Board exams in New Jersey. Once you pass the State Board practical & written exams, you will receive a license that allows you to practice in your area of concentration in the State of New Jersey. – Which offered programs are licensed by the State of New Jersey? How do I get my license?
By enrolling in the course of your choice at Christine Valmy International School of Esthetics & Cosmetology, we provide you with the guidance & assistance to navigate both the course curriculum & the steps you will need to take to get your license. We are here for you every step of the way until you have your license in hand.
What is a credit transfer?
A credit transfer allows a student to transfer credits from equivalent courses or programs attended prior to the program you are applying for. A transcript is required to be evaluated by our Enrollment Officer, and you will need to take an entrance exam before complete credits can be transferred. For more information, please contact us.
Admissions
What are the program requirements?
An eligible student must:
- Have a High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Be 17 years of age or older by the start of the program and provide proof of birth (acceptable documents: valid Driver’s License, Passport, Birth or Baptism certificate, Citizenship documentation, Immigration Certification or Alien Registration Card)
- Complete a personal interview at the school
- Complete his/her registration for the State of New Jersey
What certificate or diploma should I have to register?
To register, you will need to provide one of the following: proof of high school diploma, GED equivalent, home-study certificate or transcript from a home-study program that is equivalent to a high school level diploma, and is recognized by the student’s home state. Foreign diplomas are accepted but must first be translated and certified.
Can I apply with a diploma from a foreign country?
Yes, foreign diplomas are accepted. All diplomas must be translated into English and certified to be at least equivalent to a US high school diploma.
Do you offer financial aid?
Christine Valmy International School of Esthetics & Cosmetology offers Federal financial aid & Title IV funding for those students who qualify.
What type of payment plan do you offer?
All students are offered an interest-free weekly payment plan. Weekly payments vary based on the length and total cost of the program. For more information, please speak to our Financial Aid Officer.

Where are you located?
We are located in the Willowbrook Center in Wayne, NJ, near the Willowbrook Mall.
How can I get to you?
We are conveniently located near an NJ Transit Bus hub. The following lines stop near our building: 11, 28, 191, 193, 194, 195, 197, 198, 704, 705, 712, 748, 874. Getting to us should be as easy as 1-2-3!
Do I need an appointment or can I come directly?
Appointments are not necessary, but we encourage you to call ahead so our Enrollment Advisor is ready to meet with you as soon as you arrive.
What are your hours?
The school operates year-round, except for the major holidays listed in our catalog. We are open Monday through Wednesday from 9:00 am – 9:30 pm, and Thursday and Friday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. We are closed on weekends.
